First, a big THANK YOU to every one of the students’ friends and families that came out on a rainy and cold evening to support our young performers. Such a strong show of support really helps to encourage the students to continue with their hard work and dedication to musical performance.
Performing for a live audience is the ultimate test. Typically, a drummer or percussionist has a band to hide behind. Not here. Our students perform solo, with the audience in very close proximity. There is nowhere to hide, so it pays to be prepared. That experience cannot be simulated - playing for a crowd really is the ultimate test and a vehicle for personal growth.
