grooveFEST Recap!

The students that participated in grooveFEST on Saturday at The Kennett Flash all did a TERRIFIC job presenting their performances. Playing solo drums for a live audience is not an easy thing - and they all handled themselves like pros. We has musical selections from almost every musical styles: rock, rhythm & blues, power pop, big band, rudimental, and a video montage showing one of our students playing xylophone, concert snare drum and timpani.

Djembe Master Class Recap

One of the truly rewarding things about the studio is creating experiences that connect people who would otherwise never would have met. This is often what happens at our djembe master classes, which are hosted at grooveKSQ and facilitated by djembe master Pape Demba Samb.

The Studio is Growing!

Thank you very much for your support. The studio would not be what has become without you.

In November 2018, this percussion studio was a true start up. It has now become a full time business with student members of all different ages and ability levels.

On September 1, 2022, I am opening a second studio location: groove Oxford Arts Alliance.

I am looking forward to bringing the same high quality instruction on drum set, rudimental, hand drumming, marimba, electronic percussion and content creation, recording and media production to the Oxford Arts Alliance.

The website has some terrific new functionality - current students can now schedule their makeup lessons directly through the website! No more texting and emailing back and forth.

All you have to do:

  2. Select Makeup Lesson (Current Students Only);

  3. Choose an available time. That’s it! It’s super easy.

Once you select your time slot, we will both get email notifications.

Announcing the grooveKSQ 3 Day Practice Challenge!

Announcing the groove 3 Day Practice Challenge! This is a livestream series on the studio’s YouTube channel that will broadcast Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (June 28, 29 & 30) at 2:00pm eastern. These videos are going to be short (less than 15 minutes), designed for intermediate students to help reinforce the idea of daily and intentional practice. You can join live or you can watch them after the livestream.

I strongly encourage you all to go to the YouTube channel and subscribe, as we are going to use that heavily over the summer.
